Look, we're not gonna pretend we've got all the answers. But after 15 years of messing around with concrete, glass, and a whole lot of trial-and-error, we've figured out a thing or two about making buildings that actually matter.
Founder & Principal Architect
Started this studio back in 2009 because I got tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter designs everywhere. Vancouver deserves better, y'know? We're surrounded by mountains and ocean - why shouldn't our buildings reflect that connection?
"Every building tells a story. We just make sure it's one worth listening to - and one that doesn't trash the planet while doing it."
These aren't just nice words on a wall. They're the stuff we actually argue about over coffee every morning.
We're kinda obsessed with green roofs, passive cooling, and solar orientation. If it can't work with nature instead of against it, we're probably gonna redesign it.
Fancy renders are cool and all, but we care more about how your grandma's gonna navigate the space or where your kids'll actually play. Real life beats Instagram every time.
We try new things, sure. But not just 'cause they're trendy. If it doesn't solve a real problem or make life better somehow, it's just noise.
Throwaway culture? Not here. We design buildings that'll still be standing (and looking good) when your great-grandkids are around.
Here's what we've managed to pull off with our clients over the years:
Opened the studio with just me, a drafting table, and way too much coffee. First project was a tiny laneway house that somehow won a local design award.
Landed a mixed-use building in Gastown. Terrifying at the time, but it put us on the map and taught us we could handle the big stuff.
Got recognized for our work on net-zero housing. Still one of the proudest moments - showing you can build green without breaking the bank.
Started specializing in bringing old buildings back to life. There's something special about preserving history while making it work for today.
Grew the crew to a full team of architects, designers, and sustainability consultants. Turns out, we're better together than alone.
Working on our most ambitious project yet - a carbon-negative community center. The future's looking pretty good from where we're standing.
We're always up for a good conversation about architecture, sustainability, or just how to make spaces work better.
